Motor City Beavis! While visiting the Detroit Institute of Arts with classmates, a goofy 12-year-old kid stuck a piece of gum on the canvas of a 1963 painting by American artist Helen Frankenthaler. The gum left a slight stain on a corner of The Bay, a large colorfield abstract worth $1.5 million. Museum bigwigs aren’t worried—they say getting the stain out should be no problem. But they went over to the boy’s house and smeared quiche on his Eminem poster to show him how it feels.
